  • No, not at this time. Dr. Burns offers telehealth visits to patients located in California, in accordance with the standards set forth by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the American Psychological Association (APA), and the California Board of Psychology.

  • Dr. Burns utilizes Doxy.me, a video conferencing platform specifically designed for healthcare use. Your privacy is preserved and sessions are kept confidential, as all data is encrypted and meets HIPAA, PIPEDA, and GDPR data privacy requirements.

  • No, but we can provide a superbill that you may submit to insurance for reimbursement.

  • Contact your insurance company and ask:

    1. Do I have out-of-network benefits for mental health care?

    2. If so, at what percentage will I be reimbursed?

    3. Do I owe a deductible before the coverage begins?

    4. How many sessions are covered and over what time period?
